Connecting Spirit to Spirit
Dec 15, 2011
Have you ever wondered what life is really all about on this earth we live in………… We strive for things physical, always looking and searching for things to give us some kind of peace or fulfillment.
Seems to me like there was a supernatural peace with Adam and Eve before the fall; however, after the fall it became something mankind had to strive for -go toward. We now know there is only ONE place to find it-no matter how hard you look or how hard you run or where you search-nothing and no one will give that to you except the Lord. The earth we live in does not possess it and can't give what it doesn't have. It can offer a counterfeit, but it won't last, because it isn't the real deal which eventually results in disappointment and frustration in our lives.
True peace and fulfillment is a longing inside that is placed inside us to propel us to seek out the one true source. WE know that this earth is temporal and true peace and fulfillment are eternal and supernatural and we have to receive them supernaturally from the one and only true divine creator/savior who is supernatural. There is only one door, one creator who fulfills our longing to be near Him and possess His attributes…Spirit connects to spirit.
I know men and women of God in Bible times experienced this very same thing as they strived to live for the Lord, our lives are no exception. When we try to figure things out in our head, it doesn't always line up with the word of God; we have to connect in the spirit.
Think of Mary, the mother of Jesus, she was a women and a human being seeking the Lord's will just like you and I. She struggled with what she knew in her head and what the Spirit of God was saying. All historians pretty much agree Mary was about 13 when Jesus was born. That seems rather young and odd to pick such a young person to carry such a calling; the Lord does things His own way. Joseph however was much older; there is much controversy on his age but probably around 50. Joseph is never mentioned again in scripture after Jesus is 12 years old and was not at the crucifixion, most believe he had already passed away. The Zondervan Bible Encyclopedia says Joseph died at 111 years old and if he died before Jesus was crucified then he could have been older at the time of his marriage to Mary. It is also reported he was a widower. This was very common in those days for arranged marriages. As we get older and the flesh begins to die, we turn more and more to the spiritual; knowing the flesh can no longer win physical battles. The Lord had to pick someone with maturity to handle the situation knowing Joseph had to rely on the spirit to direct, not the flesh. Both struggled to be led by the Spirit-you know-always questioning whether they were following the Lord accurately. We look at it today and know they were, they didn't know the outcome. Just like in our lives, we don't see the outcome, we live day by day. In those days, Mary would have been stoned or sent away-such a disgrace for becoming pregnant out of wedlock. She had to struggle with what God said and what people said- she had an inner longing inside for peace in this trying situation, she NEEDED the Lord's guidance. Joseph had to trust her pregnancy was Holy Spirit led-or was he believing a lie and someone else was the father??? Do you think they weren't human and Satan didn't attack their minds?? I think not. Satan was on an all out war to destroy the child from being born and was after the people God was using to deliver the Word. Satan is still on an all out war against mankind (the image of God)-he will stop at nothing to destroy.
WE have to stay free, we have to live in peace knowing we are being led by His spirit-we have to connect Spirit to Spirit. Ask the Lord today to be your constant provider, leader, and friend-always guiding, always leading….
Ecc 6:1 There is an evil which I have seen under the sun and it is common to men….
Meaning-there is an evil that all men feel and are persuaded to follow-the evil is felt by All mankind-no-exemption.
I read somewhere the other day an older man encouraging people to give the Lord the first few minutes in the morning and at the end of the day. As soon as your eyes open, spend about 5 minutes before arising and begin praying over your day and asking the Lord to guide you and your friends and family, just connect Spirit to Spirit. At night when you lay your head down, spend a few minutes thanking the Lord for his guidance through the day, we will connect once again Spirit to Spirit as we sleep. If through the night you can't sleep-pray for those the Lord puts on your heart, just silently, but it trains our minds to be stayed on the Lord and it's so simple. Don't let the enemy possess your minds with worry, fret and unbelief. Don't let Him steal your peace with situations or people that have hurt you. Don't let regret or frustration cloud your spirit. Remember, Satan and evil forces will stop at nothing to get your attention away from your real goal. Let your mind dwell on the goodness of the Lord, always forgiving, always guiding and listening-lets be thankful for what we do have and the blessings the Lord has given us-everyone has something to be thankful for.
Phil 4:7 And the peace of God which passes all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
I pray you stay safe and full of the peace that passes all understanding. May the Lord guide you and protect you and show you the path He has for you today and every day. No one can walk your path but you; God has placed a special anointing on each of us to walk our destined path. Hold your head high and praise Him, for He has made a way for us to walk, a way for us to go before Him individually, a way to pass through this land as we head to our eternal home. God bless…………………
